GLYcoDiag participated in the 30th Meeting of the French Glycosciences Group (GFG 2026), held from May 18 to 22, 2026, in Vers, Occitanie (France). This major scientific event gathered the French glycosciences community around the latest advances in glycobiology, glycoengineering and host–pathogen interactions.
During the congress, Antonio Marotta, PhD student at GLYcoDiag presented a scientific poster as part of the European AUREUS project, a multidisciplinary doctoral network funded by the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA-DN), dedicated to addressing antimicrobial-resistant Staphylococcus aureus infections.
Our work focused on the study of interactions between S. aureus surface glycopolymers, particularly wall teichoic acids (WTA), and glycan-binding proteins involved in pathogen recognition by the host immune system. This research aims to improve the understanding of molecular recognition mechanisms that could contribute to the development of innovative immunological strategies against resistant bacterial infections.
Participation in GFG 2026 was also an excellent opportunity to exchange with academic researchers and strengthen collaborations within the glycosciences community. These interactions fully support GLYcoDiag’s commitment to advancing applied glycosciences and microbiology through collaborative European research projects.
